Iran has a fascinating history, littered with ancient cities, diverse peoples, beautiful mountains, rich with resources, yet it’s leadership has engaged in a brutal and bloody suppression of protestors and has purportedly killed anywhere between 5, 000 to 30, 000 of its own people. There are reports of protestors being executed and even reprisals against doctors who provided injured protestors with medical care.

One might assume that this violence, often carried out by Shiite militias and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, is simply about remaining in power. That is true, but it is way more than that, it’s more than keeping their hand on the grip of power, it is about being the “Architects of Armageddon.”

Iran is a nation where its leaders believe that their primary mission isn’t governance or economics but manufacturing the end of the world.

Political leaders who do not want to pave roads as much as pave the road to an Apocalypse!

Iran’s clerical leaders, the mullahs, believe that they are the temporary placeholders for a “missing” messianic imam who disappeared over a thousand years ago.

I am not making this up, this is the official state ideology of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

This is why the mullahs and the republican guard will not relinquish power and why they do not fear a confrontation with Israel and America, to the contrary, they relish in it!

This all comes down to “Eschatology” which is the study of the end-times according to different religions and belief systems. There are Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, Secular, Hindu, and Islamic eschatologies. They are diverse among each other and diverse within themselves.

So in this post, I’m going to engage in some analysis of Shiite eschatology, looking at the radical prophecy and apocalyptic vision driving one of the world’s most brutal regimes and I will explain how they are quite literally trying to build the “End of the World.”
