As for news …
First, Australia’s first Christian terrorist incident. I was interviewed by the University of Melbourne podcast The Yarn about the Wieambilla shootings in December 2022 which resulted in the deaths of two police officers, a civilian, and the shooting of the three assailants in Australia’s first Christian terrorist attack. I talked to Kirra Nicolle about pre-millennialism. It is a FASCINATING LISTEN!
Second, Hollowed By Thy App. Writing for The Free Press, Madeleine Kearns asks: Since it was launched in 2018, the Christian prayer app Hallow has been downloaded 23 million times. Is this the beginning of a religious revival? The App has been living-changing for many people, but it is not without critics.
Third, Why Should We All Be Religious! Damir Marusic and Shadi Hamid discuss New York Times columnist Ross Douthat’s new book Believe: Why Everyone Should Be Religious.
Fourth, several documentaries about Pope Francis have predictably suddenly appeared. Here are a few: France: The Pope of the New World; The Life of Pope Francis; Remembering the Revolutionary Pope.
Mull on that and let me know your thoughts!
Looking forward to that Zoom session. Great guests/topic.
I am Roland England in Maryland, USA.I am actually a free subscriber and have been for several years. I really like these posts. I am a NT Wright fan and have many of his books. I recently wrote a book on Revelation that I believe has merit but doesn't everybody who writes a book? But I will not go there. The title is, "The Lamb Alone is Worthy: Understanding Revelation." I recently retired as a pastor in the United Church of Christ. I am a graduate of Eastern Mennonite University and Union Presbyterian Seminary. I took classes under Dr. John Bright and Dr. Matthias Rissi. I am a longtime student of Revelation. I just received my author's copy from Dorrance Publishing Company and posted a picture on my Facebook page. I copied and pasted that link below. I will be available online in two weeks. It will be in hard copy, soft copy and eBook. The soft copy ISBN: 979-8-89341-234-5. I am asking you to have someone review this book for you and see what you think.
