John Piper, Wives, and Harsh Husbands
What can a wife do if she finds herself married to a harsh man? Pray earnestly for him. Seek to win him with gentleness. Share the burden wisely with others. Distinguish sin from personality. Approach him with hope.
A few weeks ago, Pastor John Piper answered a question from a woman about how a wife should respond to a “harsh” husband. I thought Piper’s response was thoughtful, showed genuine concern, and sought to apply the counsel of Scripture to the situation. However, I still think there were a few deficiencies in the advice that he gave.
