In the latest episode of ANTWA, we answer four very good questions.
Did Jesus know he was God?
Is contemplative prayer or 'meditation' an acceptable Christian practice?
What contemplative practices can we integrate faithfully into our Christian everyday lives?
If God is omnipresent, is it then possible for God's presence to be in a building or other place even when empty? Do we just 'sense' His presence in a place according to our expectations?
Plus, there is a bonus episode, entitled “Read My Lips: Tom Wright Does Believe in Penal Substitutionary Atonement.” You don’t want to miss that one!
I forgot to provide the link last week, so here we are, a new video on “Did Jesus Abolish the Old Testament Law?” You might say, no, but consider this: Jesus prohibits what the Law allows (divorce, oaths, retaliation) and allows what the Law prohibits (disobeying parents, perhaps a lax view of the sabbath, etc.).
Change of tone from the other day: Many thanks to you and Dr. Wright for answering my question! It brought me a lot of peace, and I have a newfound joy in giving my time to, and setting my mind on, Jesus to the glory of God who is Father, Son, and Spirit.

“Some people worry about repetition, and if it becomes tedious one can leave it behind. But on the third or fourth repetition, you find yourself deeper… Many styles on many occasions for many people. Let a thousand flowers bloom as long as Jesus is right there in the middle of the Garden… Always Jesus at the center, invoking the Spirit, to the glory of God the Father; then just see what patterns emerge.”

“As long as it’s Trinitarian and brings you to the feet of Jesus, it will be to your benefit.”

For this reason, ever since I’ve heard their faith in the Lord Jesus and their love for all God’s people, I have not stopped giving thanks for Tom and Mike!
I do not think that Tom should start doing Yoga anytime soon.
I taught yoga for 20 years (!) and while I think that Christians should maintain their flexibility and even practice intelligent movement co-ordinated with the breath. As soon as you practice Yoga, you are embracing another worldview and it is not Christian.
