We had a great day in Laodicea. The fourth century church is amazing, there’s the remnants of an ancient house that may have hosted a church, plus the amphitheater is stunning.
Laodicea is mentioned in Col 4:15 where Paul refers to a church there led by a woman named Nympha. It is also possible, but not certain, that our canonical Ephesians is the letter to the Laodiceans mentioned in Col 4:16. John’s Apocalypse includes a letter to the church in Laodicea in Rev 3:14-22 where the church is chastised for being lukewarm.
I wish I was a bird on the wall, er, at least a fly on the wall over there!
Was it lukewarm?
