Hi friends, it’s getting close to Christmas, so let me share with you my favourite Christmas tune and favourite Christmas reading.
First, on the tunes, oh boy, lots of hymns and songs to choose from, and this one is a tie between O Come O Come Emmanuel by King and Country and Pentatonix's Mary Did You Know?
Second, on best Bible reading, Luke 2 read by Liam Neeson in that cool Irish accent.
Third, I wrote a big essay for Faithlife on Christmas Is about the Advent of God! But What Type of God? In starts: Joan Osborne’s 1995 pop hit “What If God Was One of Us?” asked an excellent question. Another song—a famous hymn of Charles Wesley and George Whitefield—gives the correct answer. “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing,” written in 1739, declares:
Veiled in flesh the Godhead see,
Hail th’ incarnate Deity!
Pleased as man with man to dwell,
Jesus our Immanuel.
Hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
Christmas greetings to one and all.
I love both of those songs too! I also love Josh Garrels' The Light Came Down, the whole CD.
