This Week
Singapore is not far away from Australia, only a two-hour time difference, but boy it took me a while to readjust to the Melbourne time zone. Teaching this week was about Romans 6, the Church as our Mother, and I had to do an impromptu three-hour lecture on Constantine (which started with the Keanu Reeves movie about a chain-smoking exorcist who battles demons, but ended with Constantine the Emperor’s death in AD 337). Otherwise, Tom Wright and I get quoted in Lecrae’s conversation with Matt Chandler. Listen from about 48:25! To be honest, I’m not sure if the quote is from us, I can’t find it, in any case, it is a good conversation! Also, check out my chats on political theology with Preston Sprinkle on Why Secularism is Good for Christianity and What Does Faithful Political Engagement Look Like?

Matthew 18:10 is an interesting verse because it appears that Jesus teaches that new believers have guardian angels. So what’s going on in this verse?

Hi Michael
Saw your comments about Singapore and the time zone hit. We West coasters, who are on the same time zone as Singapore, have to live with that each time we travel East - and 3 hours in summer! I have business in both places and Singapore is much easier for me. Similar flight time and no change to the watch - and the airport works like a dream! No more WA GST largesse for you lot 🤣
