In this episode of Birds of a Feather, Aimee Byrd and Michael Bird connect with Kristin du Mez, Beth Allison Barr, and Devi Abraham, and they discuss: •
Manly beards
• Patriarchy in the post-trump era
• Are women preachers a doctrinal issue or moral issue for churches?
• Women who are deconstructing
• Christian nationalism
I thoroughly enjoyed this!! I do have some disagreement with the seeming implication that theological conservatives and political conservatives are against woman or egalitarianism. I am the aforementioned, but I believe strongly that women can be pastors and bishops and should be looked at as equals. Further, I believe women should at all times be given the same respect given men in society at large and in the church. With that said, I have some questions: 1) In the home do egalitarians see the man and woman as serving each other in shared leadership? 2) What happens when they can't agree? 3) Are there any distinctions between men and women apart from the sexual one?
