I have to give credit to my friend and colleague Dr. Craig Keener (Asbury Seminary) who is a publishing machine - which is saying something because he has Ben Witherington as a colleague!
Craig has written a massive encyclopaedic four-volume commentary on the Book of Acts, which blurs the lines between reference work and commentary. It is a brilliant work that I refer to often!
Thankfully, he has written a much shorter one-volume version for the NCBC series. For something more expositional, he has co-authored a commentary on Acts with Robert Menzies for the Word and Spirit Commentary Series, which just came out. Plus, many years ago, he wrote a short Bible study/guide on Acts for the Immersion Bible Studies series.
In addition, you can now watch Craig Keener’s lectures on Acts through Seminary Now, here is the trailer.
If you are not yet in awe of this man’s industry, prodigious capacity, and spiritual depth, he’s now publishing four volumes on the Gospel of Mark for the prestigious International Critical Commentary series. The first volume is out by end of the year.
And he’s such a lovely man too!
