Well, I’m on a short break in southwestern Victoria enjoying some wintery walks and fresh air.

Anna Funder is an Aussie author who spent time in Germany in the 90s after the Berlin Wall came down and when East German Communism collapsed. This book is about her meetings with former Stasi agents and their victims. It is a terrific book on tyranny and resistance!
Tuesday: How Did Classic Liberalism Become Everyone's Enemy? (Paid Subscribers)
Once upon a time, civil rights such as freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, freedom of thought, and freedom of commerce, were prized by the political left, the good ol’ “bleeding heart liberals.” Even classic conservatives could argue for a free market and for traditional values but defend someone’s right to disagree with them in the name of liberty. What changed?
