When I say “pluralism,” I mean the idea that we can have different types of people, with different views, contending for different ways of achieving the common good. But the idea of living with differences of opinion is becoming less popular. In many places, political differences are deeper and more vitriolic than religious differences.

The other day I came across a video of Pope Francis giving a sermon about justification by grace. It is quite good and surprisingly Protestantesque. Does this mean that the Reformation is now over, have we moved on, and do the theological ruptures of the past still matter?
