I just came across a most intriguing article about the Reformation in Zurich under Huldrych Zwingli and how Zwingli created the first Reformed college, the Prophezei, and how they worked collaboratively to produce sermons for the city.
Tuesday: The Plague of Cyprian and the Roman Empire (Aviary Members)
One of the things Cyprian is known for is “The Plague of Cyprian,” not because the plague had anything to do with him personally, but because he is our best witness to a great pestilence that broke out over the empire during the 250s. In fact, he gives a very memorable and quite graphic account of its symptoms.

In Minucius Felix’s Octavius, a fictional dialogue between the pagan critic Caecilius and a Christian named Octavius, Caecilius offers this denunciation of Christianity in some strong language!
Thursday: Paul, the church, and the "Israel of God" (Aviary Members)
At the end of Galatians, Paul writes: “As for those who will follow this rule -- peace be upon them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God” (Gal 6:16). Interpreters have been perplexed as to whether Paul’s reference to the “Israel of God” refers to the Jews, Jewish Christians, or is a circumlocution for the church comprised of Jews and Christians.
