Okay, after three weeks in Texas, I’m on bit of a political theology binge, so this week will feature interactions with the progressive theologian David Gushee and the conservative theologian Wayne Grudem on Christianity and Democracy

A quick summary of Gushee’s book, why I think he’s got a low bar for “illiberal,” and boy that guy loves the European Union.
Wednesday: Review of David Gushee’s Defending Democracy against its Christian Enemies - Part Two (Free Sign-Ups)
My gut feeling is that Gushee attacks the right target, he lands some good blows, but his arguments are sometimes blunted by his parochialities and partisanship.

Friday: Wayne Grudem Calls GOP to Dump Trump without Denouncing Trump (Free Sign-Ups)
Grudem wants to ween his people off Trump, that’s good, but I think he needs to ween his people off an addiction to power and winning-at-all-costs even if it means violating democracy.
