What does the New Testament say about Child Abuse?

Child abuse is a heinous evil, in whatever form happens, in whatever place it happens.

But, I’ve recently been thinking, if I was going to talk about biblical prohibitions of child abuse, what passages I would turn to. There are of course those verses that tell fathers not to “exasperate” or “antagonize” their children (Col 3:21 and Eph 6:4). That applies as much to discipline as it does to education and encouragement. But is there more?
