The terms “conservative” and “liberal” are relative. I’ve been called both, sometimes in the same week.

I’ve been called a right-wing fundamentalist and I’ve been called a godless liberal.

In terms of American religious conferences, some ETS types think of me as a meddling Marxist foreigner, while some SBL types think of me as a fundamentalist fopdoodle from the boondocks of Australia.

While I do identify broadly as an “evangelical” - depending on what you mean by that - I do not identify as a “liberal” or as a “progressive,” and there are some reasons for that!
