The debate about Alistair Begg’s advice to a grandmother on whether she should attend her grandchild’s transgender wedding continues.
I wrote my initial thoughts here where I stated, “I would not preside over a same-sex wedding out of both conviction and my ordination vows. However, if I was invited to a family member’s same-sex wedding, I would probably go, out of love for family, and love is the best evangelist of all!”
Several others have chimed in on why they disagree with Begg, among them are Kevin DeYoung, Al Mohler, and Russell Moore.
Much of it rehearses the same point: You cannot condone sin, it’s not a real marriage, and attendance would be affirmation. But as Russell Moore points out in his response, that is not the only way to disagree with Begg!
