The world is becoming increasingly divided between liberal democracies and autocratic regimes. You might say that it’s a divide between the USA, India, Australia, and Europe on the one hand and China, Russia, Iran, Bolivia, and Venezuela on the other hand (yes, you could add more to both lists).

Today (Wed 29th) there is the Reith lecture by Ben Angell first lecture on democracy. QandA worth listening to alone!
We have, on the one hand excessive use ofpsychology of individualism and alternatively the joining of almost herd mentality joining a group. Ben identifies as fact the increase division into two oppositional groups Republican/Democrat in USA to the extent that there is an increase in the number of Republicans who would never marry a Democrat (or v.v according to preference). Love for one another let alone God doesn't figure.
Hey Dr. Bird thanks again for another great article. I know Aussies 🇦🇺 Don’t celebrate Thanksgivings Day but I say Happy Thanksgiving 🦃🍁 anyway!! As Christians we are of course to live a life of gratitude and thanksgiving everyday for what Christ has done on our behalf
I wonder what Martyn’s Iles of ACL would think about your views on freedom from a Christian perspective. Last year I engaged with ACL by email when I thought Martyn went over the top on freedom and vaccine mandates (I am a retired Christian GP!) Then when I eventually like 8 weeks later got an email reply advising me in an unsigned email that I should stop reading the SMH and stop listening to the ABC I politely informed then I would be withdrawing my support of ACL . Sad.
Excellent Dr. Bird. That’s the reason why we preach the gospel and say, with Jesus, “God’s dominion and government of true peace and justice is at hand, turn around from your ways and start doing thing his way.”
