Mike, re your comment on political risk for the government, the recent constitutional vote in Ireland should give them pause for thought. The country overwhelmingly supported same sex marriage but baulked at a more radical change to their society.
Definitely a situation that requires prayer and nuance. What surely doesn't help is that too many "Christians" use these debates as an opportunity to spout as much vitriol as they can muster, and then some.
Please Lord, help us to make "speaking truth in love" something real, and not just a trite saying. And to know when to shut up and listen.
