I finished reading your latest, Jesus and the Powers. You are of my favorite Australian theologians for what it is worth. You challenge my thinking.

While I disagree on some minor definitions, overall, I found myself much more aligned as the book progressed. This is a very well presented overview on political theology. Good interaction with original sources and faithfully laying out the objective that Jesus is king and His kingdom does remain as the Church’s witness and work. A much needed primer for our church today.

Thanks Mike and thank you for the teaser debate with Stephen Wolf. As a newbie to your podcast I am really enjoying your approach to having a considered and kind debate but still making your view heard. Really learnt heaps. Placed an order and looking forward to the read. Thanks Murray

Hi Mike, I have the kindle version - are you aware that in almost every reference to Celsus that it is spelt “Celsius”? A case of dumb auto-correct in the transcription process I suppose (as my iPad did while trying this!) I’m not far into it yet but I like it. Thanks.

Got my copy and started it today. Mike - One question though - in chapter 1, there is a reference to Isaiah 52 and linking it with the Babylonian Captivity. Many commentators don't see that link. Is there a good reference that I can look at that makes that link between Isaiah 52 and the Babylonian captivity? Though, I guess you can get there from earlier references in Isaiah.

Mine's on the way but I'll probably have to wait a week or so before I actually get it. What I get for living at the bottom of the world, I suppose. :)
