Book # 19 was The New Testament in its World co-written with N.T. Wright. Whoa and wow, this book was an adventure, almost an odyssey in terms of production and marketing. This book began with me having a conversation with Philip Law from SPCK. I was sitting at a bar with him, and he said, "Mike, do you have any ideas for books with us?" I said, "Look, I'm already booked up like Engelbert Humperdinck singing in Nashville. My dance card is pretty full."
This is a beautiful book with loads of treasures in it.
It is also great to dip into, like the "E-mails from the edge"!
I was pleased to hear in the article that there are DVDs accompanying it as well!
This one for small groups: New Testament You Never Knew, the 8 Sessions (Study Guide) is unavailable at all Koorong stores in Aus but the "Study Guide And Dvd" is available.
Ordered the book yesterday. Watching the videos now on Vimeo ππ»
You've convinced me that I need to save up for this one!
The question of "Dying and rising gods" is addressed in "E-mails from the edge" which I think was a great short response.
I have not come across the question "Was Christianity a mystery religion?" being addressed.
Not sure if Dr Bird does this in his new book "Jesus amongst the gods"? Will have to find out.
