Book # 22 was Seven Things About the Bible I Wish All Christians Knew. As a priest and professor, I get hit with a lot of weird questions about the Bible from the public (Didn’t Constantine invent the Bible?) all the way through to statements from parishioners that I’m a looney liberal (The Bible’s only GENRE is LITERAL TRUTH!). I’m sure many of you can empathize.
This is one of the best books I've read on the topic, and I'd heartily recommend it to anyone who wants to learn more about the Bible. I've always figured that if one lot thinks you're too conservative and another bunch thinks you're too liberal, you must be doing something right!
I just wish I'd had this book back in the day when I got unsettled by the Da Vinci Code and other similar conspiracy theories swirling around in its wake!
Dr. Bird, is there a Study Guide available for a reading group setting? Thanks.
James, sadly not!
What an excellent list! We want to do a biblical literacy series for our church this year, and this looks like an ideal outline. Thank you, Michael.
Evan, then I hope the book helps!
