You have built an excellent scaffold in this article convincingly arguing for Christ as the Messiah and the early church's belief in Christ as Lord and Messiah. Thank you!
It was only brought to my attention last week that while some bishops debate over same sex blessing, in other parts of the world, they debate over whether Jesus was or is Lord. I could hardly believe it. But now you’ve also says some scholars aren’t certain either. Good to know we have a helpful book out on this topic.
Although Peter was taught of God to see Jesus as Messiah (Matt.16&//s)Our Lord preferred 'the son of man' prophetic title, but did not expound on it. Would not 'the son of god'/'son of david' kingly titles be more appropriate to a messianic claim?
Alas indeed. Thank you for a good and thoughtful article.
