In addition to controversial issues and theological debates, I really enjoy the biblical insights and short posts on the Bible. Also, I very much appreciate your irenic attitude and your biblically-grounded thoughtful exegetical and interpretive ‘conclusions’.
My present concern is the lack of Christian understanding of Jesus, the Israel of God, the present kingdom of God vs present political/national/geographic Israel-Palestine & Christian Zionism. See Christ at the Checkpoint Conferences & the treatment of refugees & aliens in the Tenach.
I go to a church that has taught about the rapture and the 7 year tribulation and the antichrist and all of that… falling in line with that comes a slew of misguided applications of the Bible. I think in America anyway, it has taken the church off course. Anything to set those records straight would be greatly appreciated. Why do I keep going there?! Because God hasn’t told us to not go there. Sometimes we need to stand and be a light for truth even if that light burns us a bit too.
Most evangelical apologetics classes are merely anti-science and anti-evolution. The church needs to reform from traditional literal interpretation of the primeval history in Genesis 1-11.
I read quicker, and comprehend better with the written word. Podcasts etc are not my thing. I read your Evangelical Theology cover to cover. How long would it take to cover that in podcasts?
To add a little to my earlier comment: good theology, orthodox and compassionate, is something that can be a bit thin on the ground (or would internet be more accurate?), and I really appreciate that.
Anything you come up with is great- you have you finger on the zeitgeist 's pulse. More about hiw the early church dealt with the pagan onslaught would be instructive. Thanks for all your work
I agree with so much that’s been said here. Much prefer written word to videos and podcasts. (They’re too slow). News commentary I get elsewhere, and it’s not difficult to process it as a Christian. Please, more on what it means to engage with the Scriptures as authoritative in faith and conduct and not as “literal” and “infallible.” These terms are not helpful. Language doesn’t work that way. Let’s recognize the limitations of our understanding, embrace ambiguity and diversity of opinions, while looking to the Spirit to guide our thinking.
I'm not sad that nobody seems to like my Friday news commentary, but my aspirations of replacing Tucker Carlson on Fox have come crashing down!
I do appreciate news commentary from outside the US. And you are way more interesting than Tucker!
Thank you M. B. I enjoy & benefit from all your comments & reviews, but your biblical & theological discussions the most.

The Evangelical church desperately needs reformation from sexism and young earth creationism.
That’s all?!😉
The evangelical church needs to return to its the historic tradition articulated in the first 7 centuries. 😉
Realism vs nominalism, which one is more Christian?
Please, more theology and less politics (as in news analysis). If I want the latter, I can get it elsewhere.
Where would you go for that?

Different view here. I like political analysis in a Christian context, especially from outside North America.

Halloween is very topical - please write about it
How about this one for this week or early next: is Halloween evil and should Christians celebrate it?!
I don’t mind the news a political commentary. It keeps me open minded hearing a variety of opinions.
